da bet vitoria: Nottingham Forest are now showing interest in signing a “special” striker, with new attacking options needed following Arnaud Kalimuendo’s exit.

Forest keen on signing Kalimuendo replacement

da poker: Kalimuendo’s career at Forest never really took off, with the centre-forward appearing for just 88 minutes across nine Premier League appearances this season, and he has now been shipped out on loan to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

Sean Dyche’s other striker hasn’t fared much better than the Frenchman, with Igor Jesus chipping in with just two goal contributions in 20 Premier League outings, although he has impressed reporter Daniel Storey.

Olympiacos striker Mehdi Taremi has been identified as the Tricky Trees’ first-choice target, with the 33-year-old in fantastic form, scoring 13 goals for the Greek side in all competitions this season.

There is no shortage of strikers on the shortlist, with Wolverhampton Wanderers star Jorgen Strand Larsen and Fenerbahce’s Youssef En-Nesyri also being named as potential options, but a new target has now been identified.

That is according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), which states Nottingham Forest are now interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson, who is currently out on loan at AS Roma.

Should the Irishman return to Brighton, Forest would be keen on securing his signature, but there could be competition from across the continent, with Real Betis and Napoli also in the race.

With Roma looking to sign Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee, they may have to offload Ferguson this month, and he might not be a major loss, given that the 21-year-old hasn’t exactly been prolific in front of goal this season…

The youngster made a slow start to life at Roma, failing to score in the Serie A until November, but there have been more encouraging signs in recent weeks, with the Brighton loanee bagging two goals in his last four matches.

During his time with the Seagulls, the starlet also put in some impressive performances in the Premier League, amassing six goals and two assists in 19 matches during the 2022-23 campaign.

Lauded as “special” by Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, Ferguson is clearly a talented young striker, but he would be a risky signing for Nottingham Forest, considering he is yet to reach double figures for league goals in a season.
