da casino: Tottenham have identified a very intriguing managerial candidate to potentially replace the under-fire Thomas Frank, according to a new report.

Thomas Frank on the brink of losing Tottenham job

da pixbet: Despite being given what could be seen as a stay of execution against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League this evening, multiple reliable media sources believe Frank is on the verge of being sacked by Spurs.

In the meantime, Frank remains Tottenham manager for tonight’s Champions League fixture against Borussia Dortmund despite intense board-level discussions about his position following Saturday’s devastating home defeat to West Ham.

That being said, the Dane has publicly insisted he retains Spurs’ backing after sharing lunch with senior figures, including chief executive Vinai Venkatesham on Monday.

Even if Frank is putting on this united front, reliable media sources continue to suggest that Frank is very much walking on thin ice, with Fabrizio Romano predicting that his job is at ‘serious risk’.

Tottenham sit just one point outside the top eight positions in the Champions League standings, with automatic qualification for the knockout stages representing a realistic objective if Frank navigates this critical period successfully.

Yet, Saturday’s performance against West Ham marked their eighth defeat across 14 matches, leaving Spurs languishing in 14th domestically with just seven wins from 22 Premier League games.

This is quite simply unacceptable for Tottenham, and their performances lately have been tepid at best.

Tottenham identify FC Porto boss Francesco Farioli as managerial candidate

Names linked with the potential Spurs manager role lately include Xabi Alonso, Mauricio Pochettino and Andoni Iraola, though availability remains questionable until summer.

For now, Frank battles to preserve his position one match at a time, but TEAMtalk insist he is in fact on ‘borrowed time’.

According to their information, Tottenham have shortlisted another candidate — FC Porto’s Francesco Farioli.

The former Ajax boss has guided Porto through an unbeaten league campaign as he chases a Primeira Liga title, losing just two of his 29 matches in charge across all competitions.

Farioli was ‘close’ to joining Rangers at one point as well after speaking to the Scottish Premiership heavyweights, according to TT, with Crystal Palace and Bournemouth also weighing up moves for the Italian to replace their exit-bound managers.

As per the BBC, Chelsea even considered Farioli as an option to replace Enzo Maresca before they opted for Liam Rosenior instead.

The 36-year-old is widely regarded as one of Europe’s top young managers, with The Athletic’s Alex Barker previously sharing some key insight into Farioli’s approach to games.

Barker stated in 2024 that Farioli is an ‘innovative’ coach who deploys a ‘wacky’ high-pressing system, calling his defensive setup equally ‘unusual’.

He could be a very interesting name to watch out for, but Spurs will find it hard to tempt him amid his pursuit of a first ever league crown.
